Those who were critical of Beyoncé’s upcoming country album may find themselves reconsidering their stance. Beyoncé’s venture into country music has garnered praise from none other than Dolly Parton, putting any doubts to rest.
The renowned “Jolene” singer took to Instagram to congratulate Beyoncé on her song “Texas Hold ‘Em” debuting at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country chart.
“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s released a country album,” Parton wrote. “Congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album!” I’m sure many share Dolly’s enthusiasm!
Now, we can only hope that this acknowledgment encourages commendation from other country legends. While Beyoncé already has support from the Chicks, it would be wonderful to see backing from Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill. And of course, it would be a treat to hear Reba McEntire sing Beyoncé’s praises. Can I get a yeehaw?
